Our Heritage
- Christ Temple Church is affiliated with the Churches of Our Lord Jesus Christ (COOLJC), in the Mid-Atlantic Diocese, a chosen vessel unto the Lord to preach the gospel, to bring the plan of salvation to millions of unsaved,
and to provide that strong leadership example of a people truly committed to His will and purpose.
C.O.O.L.J.C was
founded by Bishop Robert Clarence Lawson in 1919. We represent the continuum of the orginal Apostolic Church founded on the "Day of Pentecost" . We sincerely
believe that we have been selected as one of God's useful tools because we represent and maintain His highest standard of
Apostolicism found in the Word of God. We live by his example, and we pray, fast, preach, teach, worship and praise in order
that His will and purpose shall always prevail.
Christ Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith Inc. was incorporated in
1984 in the State of Maryland. Sevices were held in the Shadyside Elementary School in Suitland Maryland. In 1985, Christ
Temple moved to 2508 Kirtland Avenue in Forestville MD. In 1987 Christ Temple leased space at the Community Service Center,
7300 Kent Town Drive, Landover MD. In 1993, Christ Temple had to relocate to 1017 Sero Estates Drive Fort Washington MD because
the Community Service Center was in need of costly and extensive repair.
A Building Fund Committee was appointed and
the saints were encouraged with our motto: "We Walk By Faith And Not By Sight" , II Cor 5:7. Elder Donald Malloy outlined
a plan that encompassed and directed funds toward first the purchases of equipment, furniture and supplies needed for the
new location, then towards the purchase of a building. In 1995, Christ Temple purchased our present building, 9020 B Woodyard
Road. The church continues to grow under the direction of Pastor Donald Malloy. God opened the heart of the church with His
compassion and love, and many lives were filled with the power of His Holy Spirit. He continues to use Christ Temple to bring
His anointing to people of varied backgrounds and to confirm that His Holy Spirit has found a resting place here at Christ
Temple . His love and acceptance prevails at Christ Temple as we continue to worship Him and grow into the vision and promises
He has given us.
As the progression of this vision continues
under the dynamic leadership of Elder Donald Malloy . We are looking forward purchasing larger church facilities that will
be a testimony of our God's faithfulness.
